Jean is an integral part of our financial life-planning team. One of Jean’s main focuses is to help small and large employers design new retirement plans or enhance a retirement plan that is already in place. In addition, she assists in the review and development of a company’s Investment Policy Statement, analysis and selection of appropriate investments, enrollment and education to participants and ongoing monitoring of the retirement plan. Beyond her work facilitating retirement plan development, Jean also works with current clients and develops relationships with new clients. Jean is a member of our Investment Committee, which is instrumental in researching, selecting and monitoring the investments chosen for our portfolios.
Prior to joining Ellenbecker Investment Group in 2009, Jean worked seven years at Ernst & Young in their Personal Financial Counseling group. While there she was involved in one-on-one retirement and survivor counseling as well as financial planning software and process training. Previously, she was a Vice President at Robert W. Baird & Co. where she was the manager of the Financial Planning Department. Jean provided financial planning services to the firm’s team of investment advisors and was also significantly involved in the customization and rollout of financial planning tools for the advisors. During her twelve years in the financial planning manager role at RW Baird, Jean also traded fixed income products.
Jean received her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 1993. She is a registered representative with SII Investments Inc., holding Securities registrations Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law) and Wisconsin Insurance License. She is a graduate of University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Jean is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin.
Jean and her husband live in Muskego with their daughter Libby. In her free time, she enjoys hosting and planning the neighborhood Halloween Party and Easter Egg Hunt. When she feels the need to put her feet up, she enjoys family activities, reading and dinners with friends.
